Updating an old Python application

A colleague and I have been discussing updating an application from Python 2 to Python3. It is an open source project but we want to be able to move it to a cloud instance where Docker is not allowed.

There’s a long way to go, I suspect, but using a local Docker enabled me to test and update the build. Once the containers were built, I ran each one to test for immediate errors. Most of these seem to be print() statements, but I will use Python 2to3 to check anything else that needs updating.

I suspect the next move will be to run the tests and then the software to find any other breaks / issues.
