Distant listening of Green Day

I am not sure world needs this but it exists. The YouTube video, every green day song playing at the same time, and it turns Nicholas Cook’s concept of distant listening (2013) into a reality. I am not a huge Green Day fan – some bits good, some not – and found it hard to extract a lot from it but one can definitely appreciate the changes of speed from the early thrashy parts to a slower recent compositions. It is about hearing patterns, not the individual tracks, and works well.

I would be interested in a distant listening of the variations of one track as well, if one existed say from demo to a live version. I think that this is what the CALMA project were doing at one moment.
