The Observer’s New Review section had a short piece on the British Library’s Beautiful Science exhibition, “How visualising data has changed life … and saved lives“.
That section also ran a larger article on the new wave of small press magazines and their design aesthetic. The common theme seems to be having a focus. Wondering how close these are to fanzines and their focus.
The main section of the Observer had an interview with Doris Kearns Goodwin, an historian, who has just published a biography of Theodore Roosevelt, The Bully Pulpit: Theodore Roosevelt and the Golden Age of Journalism. Although weighty, it sounds like it goes to questions that we need to keep asking now.
