Towards a playful approach

It has been a while since I posted and one hopes to get back to it in due course. I was leafing through some unread emails and came across the link to this reflection by Geoffrey Rockwell on Stéfan Sinclair, Celebrating Stéfan Sinclair: A Dialogue from 2007.

The thing that really struck me was the idea of play and being playful in coding. Can coding (and in my mind, design processes) be used to be both critical and playful in ideas? That is something to be explored in due course but it is supporting (?)/ hopeful (?)/ encouraging(?) to come across and keep in mind for research.

There are, I suspect, draw backs to the approach but it underpinned the work on Joshua Steele that David de Roure encouraged me to work on in between projects at the Oxford e-Research Centre.
